Born in Rochester, N.H.; inventor and manufacturer of the Adams printing press, designed by his brother, Isaac in 1833. Together they established the firm I. & S. Adams which became a leader in the manufacture of printing and book machinery. In 1849, Seth established the Adams Sugar Refinery, at the time one of the largest in the country. Died in Newton, Mass.
